Exactly, and the new LiFePo4 chemisty hasn't been in the field long
enough to get real figures. The figures quoted are 'accellerated life
cycle testing' done in a lab. I figure when my flooded cells finally
die in 5 or so years time, there will be enough real would experience
make a proper judgement on life time.
Quality of manufacture seems to count a lot in the LiION phone battery
arena. Cheap after market batteries never seem to last quite as long as
the expensive genuine article.
Some one commented to me recently that car batteries (flooded lead
acid) seem to be like that as well. :-)
