Start at Kelly controls. Go to motors. Look for a inductive motor there are two one 6 hp and one 10 hp these motors do not have a fan so they disperse heat instead. They are brushless. The 5 :-P which I use only needs an inexpensive controller and controls. Simple easy to use. The 10 hp needs the more expensive controller. 5 hp installed is less than $1,000.00. 10hp $2000

I just craned out the orig (rusted out) Atomic gas A4 from my 30 ft 1975 Irwin sloop that I bought a yr ago. With a 5.3 ft draft, she's more of a blue water sailer than a cruiser, so electric makes sense .. why I joined your group. The best solution I've found is Electric Marina below, but it' seems expensive: $6K for 10 hp + battery bank.I've bought from China via www.Alibaba.com, using my customs agent in Jax FL. I'm researching that : A 7.5 kw elec motor (about 10 hp, adequate), w a 48 to 72-volt lithium battery bank and controller. I'd love to know of any 10-15 hp electric propulsion solutions from you guys.I bought a 400 watt wind turbine 2 mos ago on ebay for $135 including shipping. Once it broke in and started spinning well (a week or so), it was great. I see more Chinese cos now using ebay as a beach-head to the USA market, where they take care of customs, shipping etc, having a mini warehouse here to ship from. A week ago I found Golden Motors on alibaba .. Chinese makers of inboard and outboard electric boat engines, and they're now selling on ebay. I am guessing that ElectricMarina buys from China, marks it up 300% and re-sells.Are there any direct from CHina electric solutions our group sees? They excel at lithium and electric motors. I've bought 10 things on ALibaba for our pre school here in FL, and find the quality very good.
