I have a Baldor gearhead 1-5 with an AC20 HPEVS 35hp peak, all fine, no problem. I easily get 3000 rpm at the engine, 600 at the prop, 100-150 amps at 48v.
I had previously a 1-3 reduction, the fan cooled motor heated at low speed.
