I am searching for a gear reduction system. I would like it to mount to my Motenergy ME1305 which has a NEMA 143T flange, and be in the 5:1 range.
The motor currently faces forward, with a dual size 3 V-belt transmission with a 3:1 sheave reduction to my inboard propeller shaft directly below the motor. The propeller shaft is too low in the narrow keel to couple inline with motor so I need to keep the vertical offset.
I'm having a hard time sorting through gear reduction systems.
The goal is to go from a V belt 3:1 reduction to 5:1 reduction, but I cannot make my shaft pulley any larger. O could potentially combine reduction of a transmission and belts.
I could also buy a higher torque motor from Motenergy that tops out at 2200 instead of 3600RPM. This might be cheaper and easier than a transmission.
