Interesting stuff. Especially the longtail river cruise boat:

"Boat details
Built July 2006
8 metres long, 1.65 m wide fibre-glass hull, interactive seating for up to 12 passengers plus 2 crew.

4.5 HP electric direct-drive long-tail motor, 6 x 6 volt deep-cycle batteries

Maximum speed fully loaded: 7-8 knots
Draught fully loaded: 30 cm
Range: 7 hours at 4-5 knots"

Wonder what motor, controller and voltage it uses?

Richard,

I've a brilliant German engineer friend in Thailand that just launched one of his new designs: the SunCat1. Up to 50 passengers, 13m x 7m, ocean-crossing twin electric. His tourism website:

A YouTube video from one of his customers:

If you are interested, he is willing to have more made. His contact info is on the Hau Hin Cruises (Thailand) website.
