I would think it might get a little warm inside the comparment. But, I'm sure the engineers at Duffy have done their evaluation on the issue. On the other hand there may also be an opening on the port side for the waste heat and exhaust of the generator to exit. In which case I don't see any problems. Unfortuntely, there are no photos showing that area of the boat so I'm just guessing thats where the exhaust opening is.

It's pretty redundant. The generator COMES encased in plastic!
