Excellent idea, and one that I had forgotten for some reason (probably age though).
This boat has plenty of room for batteries in the engine compartment, which is completely empty.

George, I would like to learn all that I can about your battery bank. My long-term plan is to build maintain two banks on this boat, each with enough capacity to run the boat during the amount of time required to recharge the other bank using solar and wind. Right now my plan involves building roll-out racks in the engine compartment that will allow for easy maintenance and, when needed, replacement. I believe this will be a good distribution of weight and that it is the safest method of installation for this vessel.
So, do you have drawings, photographs, technical information and so on?
