[Electric Boats] Re: Diesel Generators for electric conversion

 

Everything said makes sense. However, considering one can get a used generator and some of them might be in good shape, for 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of a new one, if I were to do that, would a 4KW suffice for a 48 volt system? My idea is just to have a back up that the electric motor can run off if the batteries are all used up.
