David,
I believe the second one would work fine, it has BlueTooth where I didn’t see it mentioned on the first one.

This is an interesting option I hadn't encountered before. I'm completely unfamiliar with Windows CE and these devices, so any help is appreciated!
Could I run this evdashboard software on something like this:

or

From what I can tell you'd connect to the PakTraker via a serial cable? This CE devices had GPSs in them as well, I doubt they would work as plotters but they could give simple Lat, Lon and use waypoints correct? How robust are they in handling way points and navigation and could they be used with charting software on a laptop?
Seems like this could be a neat little setup at the helm (in a weatherproof enclosure), with the battery pack status available, video-in for a mast top video camera, and basic GPS routing and location information. Probably wouldn't take input from a sounder would it. Just a thought.

Mark,
Well you could have ordered the PakTrakr display with a water proof coating and longer cable to it. I did and am planning on mounting it at the HELM dash with a plastic case to protect it along with the 2 motor AMP draw meters in it. I haven't done it yet but will post a few pics once it's done. In addition I am going to install a second monitoring device at the Nav station inside.

This is the software that will read from a GPS device or a screen. You could consider reversing what I plan on doing, mounting the GPS or make it removable. I had looked at the other program Myles posted and thought this was a better idea and a bigger screen. The eyes are getting a little fuzzy. :o)

Subject: [Electric Boats] display at helm
So for Christmas I would like a current and voltage display at the helm. I've got a PakTrakr but it lives down below out of the elements. Other than a full on additional weatherized battery monitor, any thoughts?
