[Electric Boats] Re: New member, Q re: Duffy Boat

Scott,

I will avoid making negative attorney comments and get down to the brass tax of thing as I see it. First of all I have heard through the rumor mill that Duffy has had problems with this power meter and think that they maybe should have done more r&d before bringing it to market, but sometime that is how things happen. With that said, has your client tried to reset the meter? I have only done this once on a Duffy boat and do not remember the procedure, but there is a calabration procedure. Call Duffy and see if they can give it to you. Other then that personally I would install a standard volt meter to monitor the voltage in the battery pack, or sell the boat and by an Electracraft but I am partial. Finally, tell your client to stay out of the open water as these boats are designed to be harbor cruisers in 5 MPH zones where even if he does stall out he cannot get in much trouble, just call the Harbor patrol and get towed in.

Good Luck Anyway,

Kerry

It does not appear to show the proper time remaining even when initially charged and going forward, during use. He feels he cannot depend on it and if he did he may end up stranded at sea.
