[Electric Boats] Re: 10mph Torqeedo powered 16ft inflatable video

These little cameras seem to focus in on the noise that the motor does make and over accentuate it. I filmed this with just a 'Droid 2' phone camera, so my equipment was not very sophisticated but I wanted to give it a try.

It's true that at higher speeds these motors do make noise. It's a combination of the gears and the electrical commutation. Usually a slight change in throttle setting will have a major effect on the noise, so you can somewhat tune out the objectionable frequencies.

You'll notice that in the shots from the dock the noise is hardly heard. Also some boats are going to resonate it more than others.

When I ran the Cruise 4.0 for the 24 mile 'Wye Island Marathon' I spent some time changing the RPMs to keep the motor nice and quiet for the entire race.
Hope that answers your question.
