Hi Mark,
Thanks for the input. Yes 144V is nothing to play with and I have a VERY healthy respect for the battery pack. The original pack was divided into to packs, Starboard and Port. This was an issue do to 20'+ cabling between the batteries and eventually all 12 batteries were placed on the Starboard side under the bunk. The battery pack can still be disconnected from everything as well as split into 2 banks of 72V through a disconnect. My background is MEP Engineering so I have a very healthy respect for this stuff. I just hope I never get lax...
Figuring it would cost about the same as a couple batteries for the Paktrakr and the PowerCheq system I'll probably go for it however I do like to here positive things before spending money. Since both get wired up about the same way I figured it would be better to do it one time rather than twice. Both manufacturers said "no issue" to running them together and I'm trying to work some issues out with (hopefully) integrating the display with my Simrad Chartplotter. It may be too old though (05), depends on if it will give me a blank screen. If not I may have a backup for the monitor. PowerCheq said there shouldn't be any issues with the 12 batteries and have several systems with 48 bats running their equipment. Probably in parallel.
As for the wiring, not even Lagoon provides diagrams for the ICE Cats, do any of them other than a basic harness drawing? Since my Cat was one of 3 built with Solomons equipment (first Gen that is) they didn't do anything on paper either. Then the 3rd guy who did some updates didn't. Now it's time to get everything properly documented and cleaned up (I hope).
Anyway there's a lot to figure out and I have always loved the challenges..
