[Electric Boats] Re: 28000Lb conversion

Pitt, QGator, Steve D, Dave K, Chris B, and many others;
Mark Stafford here being passionately for clean propulsion technologies, and I applaud your efforts in pushing the boundaries on larger ships. My own project, an H55 (60 foot Herreshoff Marco Polo), performs well with scrounged electric guts: 1000 pounds of old 6v golf cart batteries (96v worth), an old GE DC series 23hp (continuous) motor, and an old squealing Curtis PMC-25 400amp motor controller. I would strongly recommend (and plan to purchase) a 48 to 120 volt DC storage system coupled with an AC drive motor(s).

One of the most well engineered (and financed) projects I've found is on the Prestissimo, a 43 foot Wylie. Chris Baker's Current Sunshine website is full of real-life data. Electric Yacht recently repowered a Cal 40 in Malaysia. More info about these and more can found in this ElectricBoats links, pictures, files, and past emails. If you prefer to search for more information by type or size of boat, I have been working on GreenMarineRePower.org I would love to list more examples, which you could have me do, or you can do yourself.

Thanks again for all your work,
Mark Stafford
