very rough rule of thumb . i suggest around 4 times the amp hours you use per day as a battery rating. Take into account number of hours on VHF stand bye , number of hours on transmit , number of hours of bilge pump. Note current draw of each item from the handbook or ideally measure it.Almost any type of battery would be ok .Preferably a "leisure" or better a deep cycle type . you could even use a car battery if consumption is say less than 6 AH.
