>Take advice from Denny Wolfe, his knowledge is up there with the best of them. His Harmony 25' is quiet and beautiful to boot! I've gotten some good advice from electric outboard people as well. Any way you go, you won't be stuck like I was Saturday with a non-running gas outboard on my 23' Seafarer sailboat. The gas 5 HP motor had an air leak in the gas line and cost me a major headache and sunburn when the wind died for three hours. My other boat is being converted to electric so I don't have to suffer through that situation again. I should have spent the day working on that boat instead.
> Good Day to the Group! I am newly joined and anxious to get input from the group re: powering a 24' Tollycraft with AC motor. Taking all input openly. Size of motor, type of charging system, best batteries, etc. I am just beginning a DC conversion for a motorcycle and have the opportunity to take om another larger project. Hoping to take advantage of AC benefits of power and reverse and regen capacities. Dockside and at anchor will have solar panels, for extended range will consider adding small diesel power plant? Thanks for reading and commenting.
