big slow prop is what you want, no slip like a blender frothing water going nowhere, you want traction/thrust. if an electric motor bogs down, it heats, pulls lot o amps.etc. you want it humming fast and cool, geared down through a planetary gear to a right sized prop. then you can hit the sweet spot of battery run-time/speed/efficiency

i'm a little confused by the reduction gearboxes. i've read that they are necessary to prevent motor overheating but, if that's true, why not just spin a smaller prop?
