Torque is torque that is true,   If you use the same propeller and turn it at the same speed the result will be the same. 

However, an electric motor has more torque at lower rpms and has an almost flat torque curve so can turn a larger propeller slower which is far more efficient.

This is the greatest advantage over internal combustion engines. 

But if you don't change the propeller, you give up the best advantage of the electric conversion -  using a larger, more efficient prop!
