I'm not trying to downplay the development effort in the Regen Nautique boat, but this isn't really an electric speed record. Three years ago there was "World record, fastest electric boat 98.806mph" Here's the YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yNu2_LlO9s
Without qualifying which types of boats that they are excluding, 85kts has been the "electric speed barrier" for a while. And then there was the competition slalom ski production electric boat that we've discussed a couple of times. But it's nice to hear about more companies trying to push their limits...
