[Electric Boats] Building an electric hybrid boat, need help

 

I currently have 3 vehicles and a 40 ft (100%) Bio Diesel boat. My son produces about 500 gallons monthly. We have been talking about purchasing a small boat, abour 16 ft, to with direct drive to parallel an electric motor to the shaft with belt pully to assist engine.

Does anyone have any experience with this, can advise or help with this project?

This could be fun and you never know where it could lead.
