G'day Joe

Speaking for me, I think that on any of these type of forums it
should be fine to post "stuff for sale" from private sellers.
Alternatively announce Ebay listings as a 'heads up'.

That said, no hype. No "LOOK, CHE@P" etc, just a basic statement of
items for sale, for example:

8" diameter motor for sale, $500 plus freight
Condition is good, only a few hours use, changed to a bigger motor
Motor has 1-1/4" output shaft plus 1" auxiliary (tail end) shaft,
both with 1/4" keyways
Photos can be found at (insert link to a photo album somewhere)
located at bikini atoll, Pacific Ocean
Contact details, etc.

An advert like that, placed by a private individual who is looking to
sell a/some surplus item/s (not a trader looking to make money),
should not offend anyone. In the case of a trader, a similar low-key
ad pointing to their web site should be inoffensive, and just adds an
extra click to the delete button for those who are not interested.

There may, however be an 'official' ban on advertising of any form,
but even if there is, I'd expect that it'd only be enforced if you
posted so many ads it became an annoyance.

As for me, the probability is that you are thousands of miles away
(I'm in Tasmania, Australia), so unlikely to have anything that I'd
be interested in buying, but it will not concern me at all if you
post a few inoffensive 'for sale' posts.
