30 amps is 30 amps, rated by the diameter of the wire. Likely higher
voltages will only cut the wire size required to feed the motor as the
number of coils required to allow 30 amps to pass is designed for 12v
i.e. wattage rating/horsepower rating for the motor is 360 watts.
/(roughly 3/4hp)/ Pulling more power from the motor than it's rating
will create heat above the 100% duty cycle reducing the duty cycle in
the process.
Sorry maybe it is simpler. You should be able to measure the amperage
draw /*(30 amps if this is correct for the model)* /at whatever voltage
you choose to feed it with. Because of the higher voltage, you will more
easily fry the motor so care should be taken.
I would quit worrying about motor speed and accomplish boat speed using
a prop that best suits the RPM=boat speed=lowest power draw equation,
and feed the thing with 12v and be happy. This method gives me long
distance on less battery pack on my canoe with *30 lbs thrust trolling
motor*.
As a note: a pod set-up as are most trolling motors, limit the ability
to cool them beyond their rated hp, so to make such a motor reliable one
should limit them to their rating.
