Has held up well for the last 3 years- I replaced the original one after around five years of no lubricant, salt water boat.
You can also buy covers for them that I imagine you could pack full of grease- but the only ones I found were crazy expensive:
Probably could make something with a piece of tubing split on one side or 8 inch piece of fat bike tire and a zip tie
