There are kits to convert Honda EU2000i gensets to propane, natural gas and even multi-fuel. Search "Honda_EU2000_Generators" forum on Yahoo for more information.

This thread as moved along an interesting side channel: charging while underway (or at least while away from shore power).
Does anyone use a propane generator to provide the auxiliary electricity? As I have considered how to deal with this possible need, it occurred to me that propane would be a much less aesthetically offensive type of ICE to implement. And for those boats that heat or cook with propane, the generator could potentially run off the boat's house propane tank(s).
Any experience out there with propane generators?
