Before changing props try adding forced air cooling to your motor and controller, I added a few radiator fans to my system and that helped a lot.
See the thermal image, the fan does remove lots off heat.
Normal picture of the fan on my motor shield.

Hi,
I have a SolidNav Explorer with a Mars motor and a Sevcon Millipak controller. When motoring at higher current draw (70+) I quickly trigger the overheat fault and the max current draw is lowered to about 30 amps (@ 50 volts). 30 amps is generally fine as I get over 4 knots of boat speed in calm conditions. But there are times that I would like to have more power. I have a fixed three blade 13x13 prop and think this might be the problem - over propped. Has anyone had this issue and changed the prop with satisfactory results?
Thanks, Mark
