Hello Bruce... I have a 48 volt Thoosa electric drive in my steel sailboat and i wouldn't dream of grounding anything. The system is totally electrically isolated from the steel hull and I want to keep it that way. I don't feel the need for any AC on the boat aside from an occasional extension cord from shore power to run the battery charger. I have two large zincs welded to the hull and they show absolutely no activity. I change the shaft zinc annually and even that shows minimal wasting.
No ground,,, that would be my advice
good luck ... Simon
