My opinion is that 12 kW is plenty based on this same data.
In truth, you wont use more than == 6 kW (batteries), and 5.9 knots only needs 9.1 kW.

Real-world:
12 hp engines have run lots of 10 m sailboats, == 35 feet, for decades.
Electric 6-7 kW equates to == 12-15 Hp ICE, they tend to be 2-3 times more effective.
