Yeah the Kort nozzle is a good example of that. There are a lot of these on trawlers (actual trawlers, not trawler yachts) and a few small tugs. Not really recommended where grounding is a possibility or debris is a problem, but yes, they generally result in significant efficiency increase. The prop blades are cut square to the inner radius of the nozzle, and there is not much clearance between nozzle and blade ends. I have never heard of one used on other than displacement hulls.
