Eric:

I think you meant the E-Xpert Pro HV made by TBS right?  The standard E-Xpert Pro does not handle 48 volt banks. Just curious were you able to buy the unit here in the U.S.?  I will sing the praises of TBS who make similar units for companies like Xantrex which are sold in the U.S. Xantrex whose poor customer service almost cost me an extra $300 when the display on my XBM battery monitor failed two years ago. TBS was able to supply me with a new display for $15 plus a wire transfer fee.
Where as Xantrex customer service said that parts were unavailable and that I would have to buy a new unit because it was just a month past the warrenty. Happily that meter is still working fine with the new display as  I have learned not to operate it out in the sun which caused the failure of the first display.

Hi Richard,

I would also be interested in hearing about your batteries. Do you know what parameters the EY display is using for your "time remaining" value? Does it assume a 100% discharge?

On my boat, the E-Xpert Pro meter has settings that define the discharge "floor" for the battery bank. With my 160Ah 50V Lithium battery pack, I chose an 80% discharge limit for the time remianing calculations. That means that the meter "sees" my pack as 128Ah, meaning that when if the gage ever gets to "empty" I'll have a reserve of about 30Ah left. I've heard that many people use 50-60% max discharge (Dragonfly uses 50%) for flooded batteries and AGM can be regularly run down to 65-70% discharged. I like the E-Xpert Pro because it can be configured for different pack sizes, chemistry types and personal preferences.

Fair winds,

The EY gauge display said I could do this for about 8 hours at the start. Fluctuated between 7.8and 7.5 on the way up..Current was with us and a slight headwind..
