Thanks for the kind words. Yes back in 2007 when I started thinking about electric propulsion there were not many installations out there I could use as a guide. Today there are a lot more systems out there and as you can see here more installations being done. In addition to the engine weight you'll be surprised at how many fewer tools you'll need to carry too! When you no longer need all those wrenches to work on the ICE. Glad my blog was able to help guide you.

That's how I'm looking at it - it's a backup system in case of need. The
big trick is going to be finding that sweet spot between the
battery/motor weight I can carry on the boat (let's see... 100gal of
diesel + tanks + hoses is about 1000 lbs, engine and tranny and assorted
engine bits, maybe another 800... that's most of a ton right there!) and
the amount of thrust I can generate. I have no idea how to approach that
question yet, but I'm going to hang around and keep my ears open. :)
