2x 35kw IPM engines
- 77kw lithium NCM batteries
- 25kw DC generator
- 17kw AC generator
- Top speed 9.5 kts, 1h on batteries or 100min whit the DC generator
- 8kts on 40 kw, 90min on batteries or 3h whit dc generator
- 7kts on 30kw, 2h on batteries or 6h whit DC generator
- 6.5 kts on 22 kw, as long as there is diesel.
I'll have to take an exception to their comment, "first luxury Cat"?
Not even production Cat would fit the bill. My 2004 Lagoon Cat was their first "test" factory attempt at electric Cats at 41' and then Lagoon went on to produce the 40' Electric Cat (A whole nother subject). There has been a number of cats built with electric drives in the plus 40' range including GunBoats. (By the way they started with the same Solomons Tech system I have.) The only issue with most of them was owner acceptance of a new tech so Electric was an option.
I've always had a problem with listing Kw's as the only means of stating the numbers without the other figures. What Voltage are they running at (100V)? What is the Amp draw on the motors at what speed?
Based on what they are claiming 1 hour of run time at 8.5 knots with 2 35Kw motors isn't very impressive. What's their top hull speed?
I run 2 9Kw Westinghouse motors at 6.5 knots (around 50A draw) for around 3.5 hours. 5 knots at 30A for 5 hours at 144V DC.
My Propulsion pack is 48 LiPo4's at 168V (system is 144V). 77KW for their pack?
I can't find any info on the IPM motors.
I could only wish for a 25Kw DC Genset (very pricey). I would like a 21KW (have a 16KW) to fast charge to 144V.
Definitely would like to see some more info and applaud them moving ahead the tech.
