[Electric Boats] Re: Sevcon PMAC failures

 

FWIW - all of mine have failed due to pilot error - 2 killed by hotwiring the keyswitch (1st 'Gee wonder why that failed', 2nd 'Hmm..wonder if I shouldn't be doing this...'), 1 by shorting the contactor when circuit was energized and 1 (first) by overheating due to corrosion on the M2 connector (I think the solder joint failed internal)

Bear in mind this is over an almost 4 year span, so buying a new controller every year still cheaper than keeping my diesel running :) I'm confident I've finally learned how not to kill them (he says with fingers crossed...)
