Hi Storm,

If the two motors have different propellors, then it may be hard to compare them directly against each other. A motor that is over-propped for the specific load will pull more current with little speed increase.

You might try to get a meter to measure the actual current being drawn from the batteries. You may find that you really weren't using more power, in spite of the manufacturer's sticker.
