I too have a Bristol 19/Corinthian. A 4HP Yamaha 4 stroke was way more power than needed, even against a brisk current. A 2hp Johnson seems plenty adequate. Long oars are fine for maneuvering at slack water; you can use the winches as thole pins. Of course in a breeze, no motor is needed, but you'll want to practice your short tacks, if the channel is narrow.
Unfortunately, I don't have access to decent charging facilities, so haven't tried electric yet on this boat, but I suspect you don't need much. Borrow a trolling motor for an afternoon, or pick one up from CraigsList... No need to go overboard ;-)
