You said you were not sure about the size of the whaler you could focus on, but based on the HP equivalent you defined for your new motor, the 11', 13' or maybe some 15' Boston whalerz are your only options. The others require a larger motor for a minimum.
Search Continuous Wave.com which is the whaler blog and you can get a lot of market research from that as well as understand the psychology of the folks who own and love these boats. I believe you will find that 13 is the largest selling size but your marketing department will probably want to do some verification research on this.
