Great article. But is it just me or is there something odd going on with his new prop at full throttle? The old prop pushed the boat at 5.3kts/776rpm@6011W but the new prop at similar speed/rpm pulls a lot more power:
5.5kts/765rpm@9847W.
Here is a link to a very good paper written by the owner of the Hylas 44 who installed a Thoosa 12000 on his boat. He goes through the installation process with photos, and then covers their trip from Annapolis, MD down the ICW, across to the Bahamas, through the Florida Keys, and around the Gulf coast to New Orleans. His information covers pros and cons and offers some good insight into savings going from diesel to electric, as well as how he made his decision to make the switch.
