Re: [electricboats] Battery Recommendations

A "Lithium Ion Polymer" battery could be many things but it is definitely different than a LFP battery.

What immediately comes to mind is drone batteries. "Lithium Ion Polymer" drone batteries have large "Use" rates (Amps), and are fairly light for the energy, but are not as small (for the same power capacity) as some of the others. I guess you could call them power dense in mass (Whrs/kilogram) but not power dense in size (Whrs/cubic meter). They usually charge fast also.

The other thing that comes to mind from 15 years ago is all the videos of laptops and cell phones blowing up and catching on fire when overcharged. Those were "Lithium Ion Polymer" batteries, so I wouldn't ever charge these batteries unattended, unless they are outside or in a fireproof container (or both).
