Dear electric boat friend,
I am new hear and want to introduce my self to you.
My name is Suwan Pitaksintorn, working with National Park, Thailand.
I come up with the idea of having a solar boat to use in our marine park and show that we can travel and enjoy marine environment without adding more Co2. and also quiet. My plan quite challenge and need a lot of money. The boat have to cruise for 700 km. with 4 men from Bangkok to the south where she will be used there.
Now I gather a team to build the boat. Our boat specification and requiment as below:
It will run on solar panel alone during the day(9-15.00) at 6 knots (maximum speed 7 knots) and also have some power left for runing about 4 h.
The boat is 4x12 fiber glass catamaran style and can load 20 passengers.
There are two motors (4kw out put each) for safety reason and power need. The motors connect to the long shaft and propeller like longtail boat as a Thai style but the motor just sit in the middle of the boat and pivot up and down only.
The solar panel is now 35 sqm. but we try to expand the roof top to gain more 5 sqm.
We are trying to get funding but we still develop the boat in more detail at the same time.
We appreciate if anyone can give some advice or any comment on the boat.
