I am a new member and am considering the build of a small wooden electric powered launch. I have in mind a 15 foot Selway Fisher design intended for steam power. Steam machinery tends to be heavy and low powered which would make it suitable for battery electric power. I am looking at Thunderstruck motors for supply of machinery. Batteries will probably be sealed gel cells unless the price of lithium cells come down a whole heap.
I will be keen to hear of anyone's experience in this kind of vessel.
