[Electric Boats] Re: Sailboat Props - Data Please

Thank you, Fred.

I found the specifications and profile of the Tartan 27-2 on 'sailboatdata.com' and see that, although yours has about a foot-and-a-half of additional LWL than our CD27, and 1-ft shallower draft, it's as close a comparable as I've seen so far in this discussion group.  Very Helpful!
Thunderstruck presently only shows a 5Kw or 10Kw motor-based kit in the 48-volt category, but I suspect, as you determined, that an 8.5Kw motor would be the best compromise for boats of our size.
I appreciate the range/speed info too.  Are you able to stay within a 50% DOD target and get that range?
Don't know what you paid for those batteries 7-years ago, but today they're priced about $300/ea, so pack of six would cost about the same as a pack of 16 - 3-volt LiFePO4 batteries providing similar capacity.  But your Trojans must weigh over 400 lbs.  That said, you must have been taking excellent care of them for them to have lasted as long as they have!  Congrats!
