I am facing the same issue, but my thoughts are going Republican on this one and I am thinking of some sort of Trickle-Down charging system. I am planning on a dedicated 48v wind generator and solar panel combo to keep the traction bank fully topped off (120 AH Lithium system); this in turn will feed a Morningstar TS-45 Tristar PWM charge controller to A) charge the 12v house batteries and B) act as an emergency backup for the TS-60 Tristar charge controller for the wind generator. These Tristar units can act as charge controllers for multiple inputs and voltages — one at a time, mind you.
