Mark:
Thanks for posting the photo. Yes I am able to read amp draw on the XBM which is what I keep the meter on most of the time when motoring. I doubt if I would get the current meter option at this time. I could use a clamp on meter on one of the battery leads as a backup current meter if I needed to. But, I do like the Pak Trakkr's ability to monitor each battery's voltage something the XBM can't do. I too am dubious of the % charge numbers and use them as a cautious guide rather than gospel of the true charge on the battery pack.

I added a photo folder "Lotus Flower" with a PackTrakr location picture.

I spend a lot of time cruising and try to have backups or work arounds for most of the systems on board. I like the idea of the Pak Trakr because you are supposed to be able to see the voltage of each battery in the bank. Yes, I would mount it in the cabin for the very reason you did. My question is how do you (or anyone else) like the Pak Trakr?

To keep an eye on the parameters of the ICE as well as turn it on. That's where I mounted my battery monitor for my electric system(after I pulled out the engine panel) . I say keep it in sight of the helm.
