Re: [Electric Boats] Where to mount current and battery meters?

Scott:

You can mount it anywhere. But, I think it is very important to have it in sight of the helm at all times . You want to know exactly what is going on with your system especially the current draw. They say "out of sight is out of mind "and "ignorance is bliss
" but not when traveling on a medium where you could potentially drown. Sailboat manufacturers provided engine panels in the cockpit for a reason. To keep an eye on the parameters of the ICE as well as turn it on. That's where I mounted my battery monitor for my electric system(after I pulled out the engine panel) . I say keep it in sight of the helm.

Hello:
I'm getting ready to install an E-Pod on my 21' sailboat. Is it important to mount the current sensor and the battery meters outside within view of the helm? Or can they reside in the cabin? What is everyone doing?
Thanks,
Napa Scott
