Dennis is right, although PT lumber will dry out after a few months and epoxy is sticky stuff. PT lumber is also clunky and inelegant for boat work. Consider using ply, 3/4 or even 1 1/8" where you think you need the extra material , screw and epoxy the assembly together, then do your epoxy saturation , maybe some fillets and cloth in the relevant areas like the bottom. Tap Plastics sells good reasonably priced epoxy.

Dave, You might search the Woodenboat Forum about putting epoxy on PT lumber. Its moisture content us usually very high, no so good for the epoxy sticking.

If I am to install all these batteries in the boat, what else can be
powered other than propulsion, lights and com/nav? How about a
hydraulic/winch system for the swing keel?

* A windlass for hauling in my puny anchor rode?
* LED floodlights under the water line? (no pun intended)
* e-Pod?
* A washdown pump?

Right now, I'm building battery racks/trays out of pressure treated
lumber, enough for eight batteries four to a side, to eventually be
epoxy coated and then epoxied into the hull. I think I am way too lazy
and the temptation to add gadgets is fun to think about. The boat is a
22' Morgan (1968) and we're "on the hard" now anyway. Any ideas for
what to add in my planning stages while the bottom is being worked on?
All advice and ideas are accepted!
