If you don't have a towing package on the Outlander, see if you can get one added. That may boost your rating enough.
Otherwise, add/increase your transmission cooler and rear suspension, then drive carefully.

The portapotti is really the way to go for a head on boat.  We operate mostly on Tomales Bay which has no pump out facilities, so it's the only solution.  However, having had one on our 30' LION for some time, I wouldn't go to a standard (and often troublesome) marine head and holding tank if we did get pumpouts.  The porta version is easy to use, easy to empty, substantially odor free, and takes very little space.  Reccommend them to all my friends who ask me  .. or I will if any ever do ask...

There are sure some fine e-boats on the market.   Dennis Wolf's is a beauty, and the Grapeview point boats are too. This Spincraft is a very pretty little boat too.  However, listening to the video on their site (http://www.spincraftboats.com/video/spincraft.wmv) I was taken aback to hear them claim that while their boat will run on .9 liters per hour (gen set), a normal diesel boat of this size will use about 4.5 gals per hour.  Really?  I know of a 50' x 14' trawler that goes 7 knots on 4.5 gals/hr (671-N).  Are they ignorant or just think that we are?

Subject: [Electric Boats] Spincraft Silent 1 for sale

 

Am thinking of selling my 2006 Spincraft Silent 1. It's the basic model--no fancy woodwork. Same colors, trim, etc., as in picture at http://www.spincraftboats.com/. I bought it new. Have a trailer for it and a guy that will deliver it fairly cheap. I've added a surrey top and another battery--for the bilge pump. There's an OK cockpit cover. The boat's a little big for where we have it--a lake in upstate NY--and we have a smaller homebuilt one we put on the hard when we got this one.

We'll add information about range vs. speed after we cycle the battery bank a bit more. This is a start.

As might be expected, although hull speed (6 kts) takes about 2800W,
75% of hull speed takes 25% of that power, and 50% of hull speed takes only 10% of 2800W.
