I've had good luck with the Chinese branded version of this motor:
Newport Vessels NV-Series 86lb Thrust Transom Mounted Saltwater Electric Trolling Motor w/LED Battery Indicator (36" Shaft) (23M1000201) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VYP3L3I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_g.dKFbBT2D7CY
I use it for the dinghy but it is strong enough to be a plan C for my sailboat in a pinch. I've used it to move the 30' boat in calm conditions. Is a 24v motor but works with 12v or 24v, which is handy for the dinghy.
But I also recently noted this one on Amazon:
Caroute N300-24V 160LB Brushless Electric Boat Trolling Motor Large Thrust Saltwater (160 Pound, 42" Shaft) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WF521LE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_LdeKFb8XDYEV6
I'm curious if anyone has tried it?

In fact, my intention is to rig up a 24v 80lb minnkota that I have, at least as a first draft. I have a lot of time to think this over, we got four inches of snow last night so I suppose our season is officially over.
Glenn, how did you rig up your steering? I of course also have remote steering, a standard mechanical setup. And I'm curious about the challenges with turning left under the dual setup. Are dual ICE outboards set up with reversed props?
Also, Glenn, I like how compact your motorwell area is. I built the standard Redwing and I could use the extra foot of cockpit!<IMG_1686 (1).jpg>
