Re:[Electric Boats] Electric Conversion of my 1978 S2 8.0B

No advice to add, but I am doing the exact same thing to my 1976 Islander 28. Last weekend we pulled the Volvo MD6A, this weekend is pulling out diesel tank and getting engine compartment cleaned up so we can add the battery platforms. We plan on having 200ah+ battery capacity and a small genset as well.

Just arrived today. Thunderstruck 10KW sailboat conversion kit and other goodies to get the job done. I am decommissioning the Zephyr motor but keeping the sail drive leg. With on 4600lbs of displacement, the 5KW  motor would probably have been enough, but the 10KW will give me reserve power in strong current or wind.  I'm going with AGM batteries with 200ah, I also have a 2200kw generator as a range extender. The full plan is to add solar and wind as well. Any advice from someone who has completed a conversion? I'm open to it. I will update as i go along.
