I don't think that will increase your efficiency at all. Energy has to come from somewhere. Using a pump to push water astern is just robbing Peter to pay Paul. Now, if you have some specific reason to consider a jet drive, efficiency might not be the deciding factor, but trying to supplement conventional external propeller propulsion with a "sorta" waterjet drive seems like a waste of watts for no purpose.
