Re: [Electric Boats] pulling the plug...

Wow, that's kinda harsh to sailors don't you think. I've only been on this thing for about a week and although I consider myself a "sailor", I'm actually building an electric trawler right now.

And while the site does have a slight commercial tilt to it from several vendors that regularly participate, I have found it a valuable information resource. All the participants, particularly the vendors, seem to want to help and share valuable information, some of it bordering on proprietary sometimes.  And no one has means tested me for being a sailor yet.

And for the record, I've been on the water for over 30 years, both power and sail, and if you ask me, it's the power boaters that more often have an attitude!

Sail or power though, I think it's the "yachters" that have the most attitude.

Subject: [Electric Boats] pulling the plug...

About a week ago I made a post asking a number of questions about setting up a system on a power boat.... And just like with most sail boaters no one said a thing.  Not even a "Hey nice idea" or "Gee that's lame."  Over the years of working on fishing boats and owning a power boat, sail boaters show us the finger... TILL they need help in a hurry.

I understand this group is made up of mostly sail boaters and I see you are no different than the ones I have had to deal with out on the water.

I use to work at Marine Service Center in Seattle Wa for a number of years and any boat I worked on I gave the same level of detail to each one to make sure all repairs I did were done right. I didn't care if they were a sail boat or a power boat things had to be done right.

So I see no need to stick around this group.  Later.
