Re: [Electric Boats] Re: Thoosa 6000 RG

Dan:

One of the things that attracted me to the ASMO Marine system is that it used standard available components. Which means that down the road I'll be able to repair my system. Even if ASMO is no longer around. Certainly many here can build their own systems from scratch. But, I was happy to just put connectors on plug in the throttle, battery monitor and key switch and launch.

I took a look at the Thoosa system. As a manufacturer (not of propulsion systems or anything boat related) I am not impressed. They are simple assembly off the shelf components. From what I can tell, they don't really manufacture anything, except maybe some mounting brackets. This is not a bad thing. I'm just saying that they are doing what a lot of us skilled hobbyists are doing now.
