Take a look at this clip on youtube.com and type in "johns electric boats".  I am running 48 volts and a 5 kW motor.  This is a very simple setup.  But I recommend electric yacht.com for a turnkey system.  They have become the "go to" electric boat place for converting to electric.  Call me if you like.  603-313-1112

New Question:

What are some successful combinations of, say, 48 volt motors and controllers that you have been using?

(Basically, I want to drive an 11 X 9 three-bladed brass prop at about 2500 rpm max (not longer than 30 seconds at top speed) wet. Cruising could be half of that and I'd be happy. Please don't let what I'm trying to do be a limiting factor in deciding whether or not you want to describe your system, though.)

I want to surf through various manufacturers and models of available motor types and the controllers that work with them, to see what's available. All pointers will help.

So...what are you guys running, and what kinds of boats are you pushing with it? Thanks in advance.
